Ever since I was a kid I loved nothing more than watching Audrey Hepburn movies and dreaming of old school romances. Hot summer days riding mopeds around Europe would be an ultimate dream of mine.

I decided to put together a few must haves for any Roman Holiday (or Summer night) for the rest of us mortals.

3) Sandals, which are cute and comfortable

4) A perfect powder pink nail polish

Carrie has immersed us with interesting and innovative fashion ever since she hit our television screens during season 1. She taught us not to fear mixing textures, patterns and fashion don'ts with fashion dos. She also taught us how to mash up different styles to create our own.

Carrie gave us the best moments on the show, with being broken up by a post it (now days it happens just as awkwardly via text) and her various relationships and hook ups. We can also never forget the saga between Aidan and Big.

Miranda Hobbes is a lawyer you can't help but love. Miranda was the most responsible, mature and put together character out of the foursome. Her outfits during the seasons were very much hit and miss. I still can't shake the images of Miranda's earlier seasons men suits and blouses which buttoned up to the neck - highlighting Miranda's ambitious personality in an cut throat industry. In future seasons Miranda's fashion started slowly coming together (thank you Patricia Field), the practicality of her suits soon became fashionable!

My favourite moment of Miranda's was when she ran after Steve in the rain to have her fairytale moment - I think I squealed. I have a soft spot for Miranda because while most of my friends compare me to Charlotte, I am very ambitious like Miranda and tend to be a little cynical when it comes to romance - yet a hopeless romantic at heart!

Samantha is one of my favourite Sex and the City characters. She brings such humour to the show and is very much the alpha female of the group. I love Samantha's character, she's confident, knows what she wants, non emotional and successful. However, she also has a sensitive side which rarely comes out but when it does - it touches us all. I also think Samantha is one of the most underrated characters on the show, I always hear my friends discuss Carrie and Charlotte but Miranda and Samantha's names are rarely echoed but they such interesting characters and extremely FUNNY!

Samantha's style is simply sexy and provactive, even her corporate suits scream sexiness. Samantha's style can sometimes also be very loud - who could forget that two piece pink suit?

Coco Chanel once said that women who didn't wear perfume had no future. I don't know whether this statement is true, but I do believe perfume and a women's scent does gage her personality. Like my personality my preferred scent is always changing depending on my mood. Currently, I am really into SJP NYC, many think the scent is very immature and youthful- however I find the scent of strawberries quiet playful and delicious. It seems to sit well on my skin and I think I am going to invest in a little bottle for myself, plus the fabulous packaging reminds me of Carrie Bradshaw's eclectic wardrobe!

There is nothing I love more in winter than putting on a warm coat and feeling that instant shiver of comfort. During the week I have been trying on beautiful faux fur creations and chunky knits and bring out my inner rockstar. I think wearing fur and chunky knits is hard to pull off and the only way to wear it correctly is to wear it with attitude and a pair of killer boots!

Fashion Magazines have always been an easy way for me to escape reality and enter a world full of luxury. It's where I pretend I have a endless bank account and circle my dream items. I thought I would share a few of my favourite Fashion Magazines to help you all get started or help you pick out a few - depending on what you are looking for.

Russh is one of my favourite fashion magazines - adore it! The magazine highly focuses on fashion in it's purest form with amazing photo shoots. You should check out their website, there is always sneak peaks of current issues at no charge.

Frankie is a beautiful magazine, it's electric, fun and has a very romantic feel to it. If you adore modcloth as a store you will adore, just adore Frankie!

Shop til you drop is a great magazine for anyone starting their passion in fashion. It teaches you the latest trends, great finds and where to get them. It's a one stop shop and I love it because I always find a bargain inside and online!

Harper's Bazaar is the quintessential fashion magazine, with beautiful pictures, mixed in with celebrity know how and interviews as well as great articles. Adore it!

And of course who can forget the fashion bible that beats them all Vogue. Vogue is amazing for inspiration and the ins and outs of fashion. For me, it is a must buy every month.

Heels vs Flats

Does beauty really mean pain? That is the age old question. So, does fashion really outweigh comfort? I continuously ask myself this question. I am naturally attracted to beautiful looking high heels which aren't always comfortable. I think both flats and heels have their time and place. If you are going out to a dinner with your friends you can simply pop on a pair of flats to add a cute flair to your outfit. However, a pair of heels are a must for a night out on the town and I know this sounds vain- but they make your legs look fabulous. But just a little tip from Mother Darling, always leave flats in the car or in your purse get sore!

Make-up for starters

Long before my obsession with fashion started I was an avid make up fan and to my bank accounts dismay a collector. A lot of people ask me what products I recommend purchasing first. So, I thought I would do a post about what products I can't live without to help you out!

Foundation is the number one needed item in any make up kit. Foundation should always be put on after the face has been primed. A primer creates a smooth base, so the foundation can glide on perfectly - like a canvas to a painting. In regards to foundation I use Studio Sculpt by MAC in NC37 (my colour) and it is velvety and gives fabulous coverage. However, there are many drugstore brands which are just as fabulous including Colorstay by Revlon. With foundation is it very much trial and error as some foundations work better with different skin types.

Concealer, I could not live without. This miracle in a tube makes me look as though I have had a good 10 hours of sleep when I may have only had 5. I dab this small amount of Bourjois concealer under my eyes with my index finger to cover up my horrible dark circles which appear once this not-so-sleeping beauty arises from her sleep.

Blush is another item I highly recommend. It makes the skin look radiant and gives it a healthy colour. My favourite blush at the moment is MAC's Dainty from their mineralised collection. For your first blush, pick a colour which you will use everyday - once you become more comfortable with make up application you can experiment with a multitude of wonderful colours.

Lipstick is much loved in my household (by my mother and I), more so than lipgloss. I am currently using Rimmel's Pink Champagne which is very similar to MAC's Angel (Kim Kardashian's favourite) and MACs Snob.

Mascara is another god send, it awakens the eye and makes your lashes flirty, thicker and longer! I use Givenchy's mascara which I picked up during my trip to New York. Love, love, love!

Liquid eyeliner is my love! I know many people prefer pencil liner, however I find that liquid liner is easier to work with and also easier to create that sexy 1950s wing. I use L'Oreal's exact liner, which is best liner I have used.

Brushes! When you start becoming a avid make up user you realise that weather you are using drug store branded make up or MAC, Chanel, Dior etc ... the brushes are what make the look more professional and smooth. The pictures of my brushes aren't fabulous - they are in dire need of a deep clean - however they make a difference to my day to day application of make up!

Hair accessories have always been a vital part of my wardrobe. At times my relationship with hair accessories has been very love/hate, because as much as I love hats they don't always suit my face shape and some barely fit over my head (isn't it annoying?). I thought I would share with a few of my must-have hair accessories for Winter and for Summer (for my lovely northern hemisphere readers).

Singing in the rain!

Beret's are a winter must- have, they are a salute to the parisian way of life and vividly remind me of my favourite childhood cartoon Madeline. Whether adorned with bows or the latest stud trend, every girl needs a beret in her closet. Qui qui!

Grab your walking stick and fake moustache as we explore our inner Charlie Chaplin and say YES to Bowler Hats. I adore bowler hats, they should be worn towards the back of the head. If you are having trouble keeping it on your head, be sure to use bobby pins to secure in place during those windy winter nights!

Beanies have been around since I was a child, they are wonderful and versatile and most importantly fit almost every head. Be sure to find a beanie that fits your personality! I love beanies with pom poms because they remind me of running around in the snow as a child.

Summer Lovin'

While cruising the beaches during the summer, nothing screams summer more than a Fedora. I love these straw creations, they are great for protecting you in the sun and also are a great cover for your face while having a snooze on the beach (but always remember the sun screen!).

Taking a page out of Blair Waldolf's book, headbands are a summer nights must have. We all know hair doesn't like to behave during the heat, so throw on a pretty headband to say no to fly aways and yes to dancing the night away!

Oh my internal Jackie O and Grace Kelly loves scarves. Tie them into a headband or tie them under your chin like the Queen mother and throw on a pair of oversized sunglasses and you're ready to say HELLO to your internal hollywood starlet.

In my mother's day a judge of a great man's character and fortune was decided by the watch he which adorned his wrist. This may not be true in this day and age with men now indulging in gadgets and cars. However, I believe a watch can determine a woman's style on the spot. Is she on trend with 'the boyfriend' watch? Is she demure and classic with a thin strap watch? Is she retro with her 1980s brightly coloured digital watch?

My tip to you - my wonderful darlings is to invest in a watch which is classical, one you will be proud to pass on to your daughter upon her university graduation. Keep it simple and then throughout your journey pick up watches which express your present style.

Lush Haul - yummy treats for your bath!

Supernova- Smells like musky florals. It's beautiful and the fun part is once you pop it in the bath it fills up with colourful confetti.

There's nothing I love more than taking a relaxing bath on a Sunday. It winds me down at the end of the week and also perks me up for Monday (I don't know how perky you can be for a Monday). My favourite Lush items are the Bath Bombs, they are just happy, colourful and whenever you pop them into your bath you get a little surprise!

Tip- Lush can be a little pricey. With the Bath Bombs I carefully cut them in half so I get 2 uses out of them. A half of a bath bomb is more than enough!

Happy Pill- Smells like Lemon and Mandarin, very fresh and invigorating!

Vanilla Fountain- Smells like it's name and I love the smell of Vanilla, it's so yummy. There's a cute vanilla stick on top.

Therapy Message Bar- This is like a moustiering bar you use all over your body. You heat the bar up in your hands and then rub it all over. It is also meant to reduce cellulite which is always a plus!

Hello my darlings! Sorry I haven't been posting, as mentioned before I have been terribly sick for a whole week. I was suffering from bronchitis and my sinuses decided to join in, such a considerate pair. I have been bed ridden for a week, no work, no outings and to my horror no chocolate!

Thank you all so much for being patient. I am still a little under the weather but am well enough to update! Yay.

So, this little post is about a beautiful Australian company called Barkins. I love Barkins, they are affordable, fun and are fantastic because they create a equilibrium between fashionable yet corporate.

I have always believed you dress for the job you want. Tip - if you are dressing for success and don't know which direction to go always reminder that black never fails. It always looks polished, refined and deliciously corporate!

This leopard print cardigan is a must! It jazzes up a black pencil skirt.

I love this military inspired coat, it adds a little vogue to a desk job.

A pop of colour and opaque tights in a neutral colour that isn't black (grey) can make a world of difference.

Seeing Miss Kardashian is in our lovely country for a week, I thought I would discuss how much I adore Kim's personal style. Kim's style was a fresh of breath air for me, her beautiful sun-kissed skin and killer curves was something different than other hollywood starlets (and surprisingly relatable). I love nothing more than a individual who changes up their style depending on their mood, Kim tends to grunge it up and then soften it with a 1950s hairstyle. She also introduced me to the magic of fake lashes and fabulous high heels. Now, all I need are her amazing eyebrows!

Oneteaspoon is an Australian brand which optimises effortless style. I've always admired fashion bloggers such as Karen and Fashion Toast, who seem to effortlessly layer different textures, stack on multiple rings and finish it all off with a pair of killer heels. I know if I was to do the same I would end up looking like a right mess. I always try to seek inspiration from different styles and pull out a few piece which I know will work for me.

This is an amazing dress, if I had the legs I would buy it right now. I love studs and embellishments.

I am lemming this sweater. It has an element of vintage yet a quirky side with the skulls and crosses.

Zips zips zips. Very in season and very much needed in my closet. Look at the plentiful rings on her hand. Beautiful!

This jacket is amazing. It reminds me of an Alexander McQueen jacket from a few seasons back.

Dusty pink. Be still my heart!

I fell in love with New York while on holidays last September. I honestly believe my heart fluttered the first time I walked through central park and caught a glimpse of 5th avenue. New York is filled with underlying culture and beautiful hidden treasures. My love for New York was heightened with my love for Sex and the City, it was the first show that introduced me (a not so fashionable freshmen in college) to a world of fashion, glamour and strong independent women. My attachment to these characters is unnatural, I almost think of them as family. I can't wait for the second movie, I've already booked my tickets! I thought I would share my favourite looks from the trailer. So grab your pair of Manolo's, a cosmo and enjoy!

P.S During my time in NYC I was lucky enough to catch the 4 fabulous ladies filming at Bergdorf Goodman. SJP is the loveliest person to her fans.

During this economic climate nothing makes me happier than affordable cosmetics which are fabulous quality. While browsing cherryculture.com I stumbled upon NYX lipsticks at $1.75US each! Any fashionista would be crazy not to pick up a few or in my case 5. I squealed when my shipment was delivered yesterday and eagerly ripped open the box. The quality is fabulous and are comparable to M.A.C's amplified lipsticks in consistency. I think my heart just fluttered when I realised international shipping was not dear at all in comparison to eBay and other international sites. Furthermore, they smell fabulous (a pet peeve of mine is bad smelling lipstick), almost like candy.

Thalia is a beautiful brown, with very slight gold undertones. Perfect for an everyday nude.

Femme is a bright orange (the photo doesn't do it justice). The colour sends me back to the 1950s.

Gem really is a gem. It's a pink with gold and red undertones. It honestly looks like a precious stone. More shimmery than the rest.

Louisiana transforms me into a Southern Bell, with it's hot pink colour it make me want world peace and a sparkly crown. Very similar to M.A.C's Girl About Town.

Qui qui, nothing is prettier than Paris. A soft bring with warm undertones is perfect to dress up a corporate suit or a floral dress. J'adore!

Round She Goes is a market (swap meet for my American friends) purely based around fashion! Doesn't that sound like heaven to your ears? This ingenious market is held every so often during the year in different locations around Melbourne. Funnily enough I draw a lot of inspiration for my style from the things I see in my every day life. Over the weekend my best friend and I ventured to the mountains for a cup of tea and some scones. During this trip, I couldn't help but to think my outfit would have been complete with a floral dress, my mother's pearls and a dash of burnt orange lipstick. It was such a quaint part of Victoria and it honestly made me want to dress as though I was a character out of Mad Men. I hope these photos bring you some inspiration.

Happy Good Friday my darlings! During the week I found inspiration from Mink Pink's latest collection to add a little bohemian to my style. I have always been very conservative and love lady-like 1950s fashion with a modern twist to keep it chic and less costume-y. However, photographs from this collection have inspired me to add a little effortless chic into my wardrobe and rock the Sienna Miller and Stella McCartney.

My beautiful vintage bag from Camberwell Market for $8 sitting amongst beautiful Wedgewood China.

Every little girl played tea party as a child and I was fortunate enough to be able to play tea party as an adult. One of my friends and I went to High Tea at the Sofitel Hotel (which is beautiful) and sipped on Earl Grey tea. We pretended we were in a Jane Austen novel. I was secretly dreaming that one of the waiter would be Mr Darcy, unfortunately I was disappointed. My beautiful friend Farrah snapped some pictures of me during the day.

There's nothing quite like an Australian summer with lounging around at the beach and playing cricket in the sand. Mink Pink is an Australia company which sells clothing worldwide. A big part of the Australian culture is relaxed, yet fashionable and in vogue clothing and I believe Mink Pink balances these two elements perfectly. So, for my Northern Hemisphere friends grab some sunscreen and indulge in an Australian summer.

Winter Wonderland

Just throw this faux fur coat on me and call me Rachel Zoe. It's fabulous and normally I don't like tights being used as pants, but these embellished beauties are worth it.

Winter is around the corner for the southern hemisphere and I can't help but instantly think of a new winter wardrobe. Strangely enough, winter is one of my favourite seasons. There's nothing classier than layers, boots, stockings, faux fur and of course beautiful wool coats. So, grab your mug of cocoa (or ice chocolate for my northern hemisphere friends) and snuggle in for some of my winter favourites.

I adore this dress, a ruffle skirt is a must for feminine perfection.

This top is fabulous. Detailing on the shoulders are epic. Every girl needs a sweater with shoulder embellishments or detailing this winter.

This tunic dress is beautiful. I love how they've layered it over tights and how cute are the bow heels?

We all know military is back in a BIG way. What I like about this top is it is military but still has feminine touches, always a plus.

I love this ruffled cropped jacket. Crop jackets don't work on me because I am curvy on top, but if you have a boyish figure or a petite frame crop tops with detailing always add curves! The genie pants are adorable and remind me so much of Aladdin.

Metallics are fabulous for winter as they add a little pizzaz to a layered outfit.

This skirt is a MUST buy on my winter list. I love how the fabric is girly and romance yet it has been cut in a way to give it a grunge effect.

Nothing compares to vintage glamour. Nothing is more beautiful than cherry stained lips and bright red apple nails. I sometimes wish women graced the streets in their well pressed cardigans and frilly lace dresses (a lot better than the walking outside in ugg boots). Of course, I, like most can not always be pristine and prim all the time and am unfortunately caught on many occasions wearing my sweats to the supermarket. A girl can still dream of the days when milk was dropped off at the door and the wardrobes were fabulously filled with full skirts and alice headbands. Oh to be a romantic. I guess I'll just have to prance around my room to a Michael Buble melody.

P.S I'll more than likely do a post in the coming weeks on the top 5 or 10 things needed for the perfect vintage look wardrobe.

Glasses, done right, are very attractive. I think my obsession with glasses spawned from endless days watching Dean Caine play Superman . He made me fall in love with thick black rimmed glasses. I myself wear glasses out of necessity (for driving), rather than preference. I find it so intriguing and fantastic that nerdy chic fashion has had a growth spurt. Glasses have finally become a worldwide acknowledged accessory. I think it adds dimension to an outfit and instantly makes a person appear smarter, which is always an added plus. I just thought I would share with you my favourite magazine spread using glasses. It's sexy to be nerdy. At least that's what I keep telling myself.

How beautiful is the feminine white coat with a masculine blazer and shoes? It's as though Elizabeth Bennett and Mr Darcy had a fashion baby.

While some little girls have a glass of milk to help them get to sleep, I snuggle up with my copy of Frankie (an Australian magazine) and indulge in the latest fashions. The magazine is so beautifully compiled and the paper is actually matte unlike your traditional glossy magazines. This gives the images a more authentic and beautiful resolution. I wanted to share with you one of my favourite fashion spreads. See if you can spot the strategically placed flowers.

I love this blazer, it is very reminiscent of Ralph Lauren. I love how they've tucked the flowers in the lapel.

I adore how they've taken the trend of embellished shoulders and used fresh flowers. Looks like a new etsy product craze! I adore the mixture of prints.

I actually love this models pose, it looks so natural. The cardigan is amazing and the flowers used as a necklace is fabulously clever.

This cape/jacket takes the cake in my opinion. The print on the skirt is adorable. Creme de la creme!

Every time I head out to Camberwell Market I am always amazed by the stunning people with effortless fashion taste (at least they make it look effortless). Everyone looks so cool and kitchy as if they were about to catch the train to a music festival. Plus, they were all so lovely when a strange girl (me) approached them for a photograph.

Camberwell Market - Part One

Beautiful vintage suitcases and boots.

With 3 hours sleep, a sore back and my soy latte I ventured out to my favourite destination on a Sunday, Camberwell Market! I love this place because it's perfect for thifting and you're guaranteed to find a fabulous piece of vintage at a ridiculously cheap price. I saw a Burberry trench coat for $40 and I was so saddened it wasn't my size. However, I was lucky enough to to pay $8 for a lovely vintage purse. Delightful!

Just a few tips in regards to market shopping:

1. Never assume. When I picked up the purse, I thought she would instantly say it was $50 and to my pleasant surprise it was only $8.

2. Don't be afraid to bargain, most people are willing to come to a happy medium.

3. Search. You need to be willing to drink multiple cups of lattes and riffle though kilos and tonnes of clothing. At the end of the day you'll find that needle in a hay stack.

4. If you're looking for vintage, make sure it's vintage. There have been many times where I have believed the stall owner that an item is vintage and it ended up being from a designers collection last season. Check the tags and detailing! However at the end of the day if it was a beautiful piece of fashion it's probably worth the purchase whether it was vintage or not!

P.S - I also got some amazing pictures of people at the market which I will post tomorrow. It's awfully terrifying asking people to take their pictures. I would make a horrid papperazo, however I lucked out with friendly folk who were willing to participate! Practice makes perfect.

I have been programmed by old movies with Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe to adore sparkles and pearls. I love a little bit of bling to make an outfit pop without it looking excessive. I had been wearing this shoes all round town during fashion week and decided they needed a little bit of a pick me up. I had this old compact from MAC which I was about to throw out when I realised I could get a little crafty. I ripped off all the beads and made my own embellished heels. Champagne taste at a beer price!

If you're feeling a little more adventurous you can stick the beads down the heel itself and create a shoe very much like Manolo Blahniks, Versace or Christian Louboutin. With a glue gun and beads the possibilities are endless!

Leopard Print

On way home from my beautician yesterday I went into a little boutique called Miss Madame, it's so cute and chic. I feel in love with these patent leopard print shoes with a tie down the front. Once again like sparkles I have always loved animal print, but only touches never in excess. I had to buy them after my incident with the ankle boots, these made me happy.

Fashion, Fashion, Fashion: Renegades Runway Show

The goodies collected over the week.

The Renegades Show was such a fun event and it was a little more laid back. The models walked down the catwalk to music from top 20 charts, which got me dancing my seat to the embarrassment of my lovely friend. The clothes were amazing and it was nice to see some male fashion on the catwalk, bonus eye candy.

Melbourne Fashion Week (Festival) has been an incredible experience. I had a fun filled week were I felt like the fabulous Anna Wintour with my little note pad (wait....she has assistants to take notes).

I will certainly be attending next year. The great thing about Melbourne Fashion Week is that all the runway shows are accessible to the public. Tickets to events are no more than $60, which I think is so cheap for a fabulous night out.

P.S How cute is the grey suit with the blue bow tie? It reminds me of Chuck Bass from Gossip Girl.

Loving something that's bad for you!

I always instantly fall in love with a piece of clothing straight off the magazine pages. Unfortunately for me I am sometimes disappointed when I go and try on the item.

I have been in love with the boots above as soon as I saw them in the Sportsgirl catalogue. I was so excited to received the phone call today from my local Sportsgirl saying they had finally arrived. I went and tried them on with eagerness only to find they didn't look as good on me as they did in the catalogue and the other girls I had seen them on. The shoe itself was beautiful and fantastic quality, it is just that I don't have the long legs to pull off these boots. As soon as I tried them on they made my legs look shorter. I was still tempted to purchase them for their sheer beauty and quality/price factor, but my conscious stopped me. I've always believed that you should shop for based on style rather than what's in fashion. At the end of the day you'll always be stylish if you are being true to yourself.

Of course I couldn't leave empty handed! I came out with the cute beanie which posted in my Paris entry and 2 beautiful statement necklaces. Sportgirl always ends up making me happy!

Second Row Glory - Metamorphosis Student Showcase presented by Sportsgirl

I was lucky enough to win a competition from Sportsgirl to attend the Metamorphosis Student Showcase at Melbourne Fashion Week. This was the most amazing show I have ever seen. Australia has so much amazing new talented designers! I am excited to see their names up in lights next to established Australian designers.

I can honestly say I am one of those people who wakes up in the morning and loves going to work. Who wouldn't love a job which allows you to be creative? I am in the marketing industry and today we had a photoshoot and wanted to share with you darlings some of the behind the scenes.

I only took pictures the first outfit, but I fell in love with it. It evoked Chanel with the little black and white tweed jacket. The leather skirt is to die for and the shoes were and amazing peep toe ankle books. The outfit was supplied by Portmans and the boots were from Myer .

The stylist also brought over some lovely accessories and fell in love with this beautifully jewelled cuff.

Those fashion lights come from everywhere

Today was my first experience at attending a Fashion Show. Melbourne Fashion Week officially commenced today and I lucky enough to win tickets to the first runway show. It showcased many amazing Australian designers including: Alice McCall, camilla and marc, Collette Dinnigan, Fleur Wood, LIFEwithBIRD, Nicola Finetti, sass & bide and Toni Maticevski.

A few things I learnt from the designs at tonights show:

1. Gold and black are back in a big way! Don't be afraid to wear some bling.

2. Experiment- mix textures and styles. For example wear a feminine dress with a rough beanie or a jersey top. Mix it up.

3. Shoulder embellishments are back in a big way. The 1980s is calling.

4. A lot of the show reminded me of Lady Gaga with the oversized glasses and the fringing covering the girls eyes.

I am so excited for the next show on Wednesday, I will keep you guys updated!

P.S I managed to spot some amazing bloggers including Lady Melbourne and Fashion Hayley, but was too embarrassed to approach them! Also, sorry for the quality of the shots of the show, it was foggy and my poor digi camera hated it.

Melbourne Fashion Festival (Week) - Blogging Fashion Forum

The Melbourne Fashion festival officially commenced today. However, on Saturday I was lucky enough to head down to Guildford Lane Gallery for the Blogging Fashion Forum. There was a panel of 4 Melbourne bloggers who I admire dearly: Phoebe (Lady Melbourne), Angie (Patsy Fox), Nathan (Love Bento) and last but certainly not least the fabulous Alastair (Melbourne Street Fashion).

I was so nervous heading up to this beautiful gallery by myself, but am very glad I did. I learnt so much and would love to share with you the few tid bits I learnt.

1. Be yourself. Phoebe at one point was saying that you need to ask yourself why you were starting a blog and to stay true yourself . To not judge the success of your blog by how many comments or advertisements you get but the success of your blog will come when you are true to yourself. I loved this part, it honestly was the greatest advice to receive. Phoebe also mentioned she runs the blog herself and posts everyday. She also takes her own photo. This woman is a power house, which is why I admire her so much.

2. Angie who is a wonderful fashion illustrator was discussing how she got started illustrating and the increased amount of plagiarism on blogs, I also believe plagiarising something as personal as an illustration is a big no no. She was so well spoken, and her blog is amazing.

3. Alastair is one of those people who I had always thought was a genius ever since I found Melbourne Street Fashion . He made a very lovely point which resinated with me. He said he ignores negative commentary and is unfazed by it... to take it with a grain of salt. He also commented on blogging plagiarism and said that there is nothing we can do to stop it, it was the nature of the beast. I was amazed to also find out that 10 people help to run Melbourne Street Fashion, that to me is astounding and some of the contributors are amazing bloggers themselves.

4. Nathan was asking the questions on the panel and he asked all the questions I was thinking about. Love Bento is honestly one of the cleverest sites I have seen around. You should sign up to Love Bento's eNewsletter, it's amazing and so kitschy!

At the end of the forum I got to meet Phoebe (Lady Melbourne) and let me tell you I was so nervous. It was like meeting a celebrity. She was so lovely and showed me the camera she used (I am looking to invest in a camera so I can do outfit of the day shots). I felt like I was word vomiting at one point, but she made me feel so at ease. She also wore her wonderful DYI embellished shoulders pads.

P.S - I am sorry if I misquoted any of the bloggers, let me know. This is purely from memory, which at times is questionable. Also, sorry about the picture quality... my little digital camera was not behaving!

Okay, so 7 things you need to know about Darling Dee:

1. I love letters. I think secretly I am an old soul, there is something so romantic about receiving a letter. It saddens me that people don't write letters as frequently and use tools such as emails and texting.

2. On the subject of letters, I also adore Jane Austen and period films. Once again, I think I was born in the wrong era. I love how women of that day were lady like and proper. How people called each other Sir, Miss, etc. As a term of endearment I call my close friends Miss following by whatever their name may be.

3. I love polka dots and pearls. Something about them just screams lady and yes that is me! Sorry for the horrid photo, it's taken using Photo Booth. I can't wait to get my hands on an SLR camera and start posting real outfit of the day photos!

4. I love reality tv! I know very well that it is horrible and make fun of it myself. However, I can't look away. Anything from The Hills to I Love New York, if it's reality tv... I'll be watching it.

5. My favourite city I have been to during my travel is New York. I can not say enough good things about this place. My experience there last September was one I will tell my grandchildren about. The shopping was amazing, the people were sublime and it felt like Melbourne because of the lane ways and hidden treasures... but ten times faster.

6. My passions are of course Fashion and Marketing (the degree I graduated with), however I am also an avid music fan. I think life needs a soundtrack and my soundtrack is filled with beautiful acoustic music.

7. I love cupcakes! Not for their taste, more so for how adorable they look. I adore anything that is shaped or looks like a cupcake... or anything that has a cupcake on it. I just love how they evoke true girliness!

I have always been one of those girls that spends hours and hours at a time scrawling the internet for amazing unique fashion finds. Now, while this website is no secret, I do have to say it is one of my favourite website for unique and fabulous finds! Modcloth is one of those websites where you gasp for joy at every single page. What I love most of that Modcloth started from humble beginnings and has now turned into a much loved site and store by many aspiring fashionistas. Plus, these is an amazing little vintage section which steals my heart.

I was lucky enough to interview the Modcloth team, so without further or do here are the questions I'd love to share with you:

Fabulous & Curvy: Crystal Renn

Being a curvy girl myself I have always believed the beauty of plus size models has always gone underestimated and understated. However, if you look at most of the Ford plus size models you can see how beautiful, sexy , amazing and REAL these women are. My favourite plus size model is Crystal Renn. Her story is heart breaking but also victorious (see video here). She's just so sexy, curvy, beautiful and INSPIRING! I truly believe fashion is for all sizes.

Hi Darlings,

The reason I started blogging was not only because I loved fashion and beauty but because fellow bloggers inspired me. So, I have decided to do a little profile on my favourite bloggers as my way of saying thank you. Dulce was lovely enough to answer a few questions for me that I would love to share with you.

What I love about Dulce is that whether you're visiting her blog or her youtube channel she always makes you feel like part of the family. Her posts and videos always make you feel welcome and are very informative (she's helped me in many ways, let me tell you).

So without further or do here are the questions:

What made you start a blog and go on youtube?
I started fashion blogs and filming youtube videos as an escape from the military world where I could show off my feminine side.

What is the latest trend you adore at the moment?
I always a sucker for florals, anything floral you can count that I'm going to get it. I also love nudes since its a step away from all the blacks and grays in my closet

For those in the Southern Hemisphere (me ;) ) what trends would you recommend for the upcoming winter season?
Chunky knits are great, they keep you warm and if you choose bright neon shades they can add great pops of color to your dark outfits.

Any tips for up and coming youtubers and bloggers
My tip would be to listen to your readers. They are the ones that visit your blog, so you want to make it as attractive to them as it is to you.

One thing you can't live without?
I cannot live with out my MacBook Pro, anywhere I go, I take it with me.

Melbourne Fashion Week

Melbourne Fashion Week starts on the 14th March and I am so excited! I was lucky enough to win tickets from Sportgirl (The Metamorphosis Student Show, thank you!) and Raffaello (Runway Show 1, thank you!) and I purchased a ticket to a third. I am so excited to share with you some photos of these events as I attend next week. It will keep my fashion addiction at bay for a week at least (or a few hours).

Hello Mr Oscar!

Who doesn't adore watching the Oscars and drooling over the fashions?

I have decided to show you some of my favourites.

Meryl Streep is one of those actresses that I have loved for as long I can remember and she dresses so well for her age. She looks radiant in Chris March.

Carey Mulligan is an adorable little pixie! I love this Prada dress, it's just elegant. Other young actresses should take note!

I have never been a real fan of J-Lo, however she rock the show in this beautiful powder pink Armani Prive.

I gasped as Rachel McAdams presented an award in this Elie Saab dress. I have always loved Elie Saab and his style. This dress just flows so beautiful and the colouring is to die for.

I adore the colour of this dress. The ruffles are just beautiful! Vera Farmiga looked fabulous in Marchesa. I must say that Marchesa dressed a lot of actresses during the Oscars and have done a stunning job.

Cameron Diaz looked fabulous. This beautiful golden Oscar de la Renta dress made me smile. Good job Rachel Zoe ;)

This was my favourite look. Sandy Bullock looks amazing in Marchesa. I love the detailing on the shoulder. AMAZING

Friends of Couture is one of those stores that instantly makes you happy as soon as you walk in. I love the lady like textures and fabrics. I have always loved lace and bows and Friends of Couture feeds that addiction. Friends of Couture completely compliments my every day style. The cardigans always remind me of Blair from Gossip Girl with their feminine detailing. They make me feel like throwing on an apron, baking cupcakes and stepping back into the 1950s.

The September Issue

I have adored Anna Wintour for as long as I could remember. I know many people see her as cold, but I think she is very professional. In any industry it is hard to be a powerful woman without receiving some sort of backlash.

This movie needs to be seen by any woman who adores fashion, magazines or powerful and creative women. I admire Grace Coddington, she's an amazing visionary. Whenever I have the chance to get my hands on US Vogue I always love to analyse her spreads. Working with her would be amazing.

In Australia we have truly been blessed with a store like Forever New. It's affordable, feminine, girly with the right amount of elegance and maturity for someone in their twenties. During the week, I wear a corporate uniform, that is why on the weekends and my evenings I indulge myself by getting dressed up in a fantastic pair of heels and an outfit which makes me feel fun and flirty.

Today was a fairytale

Alannah Hill's designs always make my heart go giddy up. I love the combination of prim and proper with an added quirk. The fairytale and fantasy element in all their campaign collateral just make me excited. I love walking into the store and seeing the girls dressed in polka dots or frills with their signature ruby lips. It's so feminine and fabulous!

I honestly wish one day I could meet Alannah Hill and discuss her fabulous designs with her. I'd also tell her how much I admired her

Next train to Paris, please.

As I child I always dreamed of running away to Paris (I blame many years of watching Madeline). So, while browsing the isles of Sportsgirl this afternoon on my lunch break I noticed a few pieces that I fell in love with. It made me feel though I was in the heart of Paris. I've always believed pop of colour on the nails, when wearing dark tones just makes the outfit that little more special.

I just adore nail polish, in most of my posts you'll see me with a new colour on. Last post I was wearing Envy by Sportsgirl (a Australian retailer). However, for my international readers I found some similar colours from other brands: they are OPI Azure for Sure and China Glaze Tuned up Turquoise.

Strawberry Hearts

Hello my darlings!

I've had this cardigan in my wardrobe for almost a year. I purchased it from Valleygirl (an Australian store similar to F21) for $7AUD. Every time I wore it I felt the strong stripe print made me look a little bit like a prisoner. However, while cleaning out my wardrobe this weekend I didn't have the heart to donate it to the Salvation Army. So, I decided to put to use some adorable strawberry buttons I had found at Camberwell Market (Melbourne flee market) and give the cardigan a new life and punch of colour.

I hope this post saves many little cardigans from being thrown out.

I've always loved pin up girl glamour. There is something so sexy, yet classy about the look. One of my favourite stores in Australia is Wheels and Dollbaby. I was looking for the perfect pair of black heels and stumbled upon these on a trip to Kmart. They were only $39!! Isn't that insane. They are the most comfortable little heels, the leopard detailing inside is insanely cute.
